THE BEAUTY OF BANTUL

Hello Backpackers! I believe everybody knows Yogyakarta. But, do any of you know about Bantul? That's right! Bantul is near Yogyakarta. You just need to go southward if you're in Yogyakarta. Bantul has everything; beach, forest, mountain, and there are so many worth-visiting villages.

Well, in these following pictures, I explored the beauty of one of the most popular village in Bantul, Nitiprayan! Nitiprayan is known as an art village. Many tourists visit here whenever Nitiprayan hold an art exhibition in some Art Space. Don't wait, guys. Just come to Nitiprayan and enjoy the freshness of the morning air.

TOMMY: "MOUNT MERBABU IS GOOD FOR ALL CLIMBERS"

Ahmad Bastomi is not only a crazy bakcpacker, but also a crazy climber. He climbs a mount every year and his favorite mount to climb is Mount Merbabu. "Merbabu is my second home!", Tommy said. He suggest the climbers should try to conquer this amazing mount. Why? Because Indonesian Climbers say that You must climb Mount Merbabu before you go to Mount Semeru (Highest mount in Java). For your information, Mount Merbabu used to be an active volcano.

Mount Merbabu is located in Central Java and it stands upright next to Mount Merapi.  If you are from Semarang, you can get there via Salatiga and if you from Yogyakarta, you have to go to Magelang first. "The hiking route is started in Kopeng. Here (Kopeng), there are so many climbers that you can make friend with!" Tommy said. Tommy advise us to keep the evironment in Mount Merbabu. He said that he and his friends were once helped by Merbabu's nature just because they kept their garbage in order to make the forest clean. "By climbing a mount, you will know that saving environment is very important. Because there is an interdependence between nature and us." Tommy hoped the more climbers, the safer the forest will be.
